Grief Informed Care: Practicing Cultural Humility When Companioning the Bereaved
Join us for a workshop for caring professionals Friday, November 6th, 9:00am-3:30pm at Brian’s Healing Hearts in Niantic, CT.
This in person workshop will equip professionals with a framework to support individuals navigating loss. Attendees will learn how to transition from an expert-driven approach to a collaborative “Companioning” model of care using the Six Universal Needs of Mourning. Case studies will be used so attendees can broaden their understanding of diverse mourning traditions and systems that constrain traditional cultural expressions of grief and loss. This program has been approved for 5 CECs by NASW/C.
Who Should Attend: This workshop will be helpful to mental health professionals and any one else in a caring profession who is interested in increasing their understanding of grief and learning how to companion the bereaved with greater cultural humility. If you know someone who would find this helpful, encourage them to register!
