Understanding Your Grief for Addiction Loss
May 24 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
When someone you love dies because of addiction, it can be difficult to understand your often complex and painful thoughts and your feelings surrounding the loss. Understanding Your Grief uses the book and workbook of the same name by author Dr. Alan Wolfelt. We will explore the 10 touchstones—or trail markers—that are essential physical, emotional, cognitive, and social signs for mourners to look for on their journey through grief.
Explaining the important difference between grief and mourning, this book explores every mourner’s need to acknowledge death and embrace the pain of loss of a loved one. Each month we will also explore the many factors surrounding the loss through addiction that make each person’s grief unique, as well as the many normal thoughts and feelings mourners might have.
