As I Honor You……/view.php/34207/Memorializ…

Over the past two years, I have sat with many who are grieving the loss of a loved one and listen to them talk, cry and to ask questions of why.
Always remaining strong, I share my story of hope and healing after loss of my son, something just a few years ago, I never imagined.
But today, I’m going to be honest with you.
Today, I’m not able to be strong or to offer words of hope. Because today is April 2nd. Brian would’ve turned 24. So today I honor my pain of loss with tears and longing to celebrate this day with my youngest child.
As I was looking through the many stories people shared about Brian, I came across this article from his college school newspaper. He was the boy next door, everyone’s friend, but Brian was also the face of someone who was suffering in silence.
Reading this today, I understand now more than every the importance of sharing Brian’s story and sharing my story so we can help those who are suffering in silence.
Today, on Brian’s birthday, please reach out to someone you think may be struggling, sad or grieving. Let them know you care. Cause that’s what Brian would do. ‪#‎keeptheconversationgoing‬
